Ms. Shastri Ramnath is the founding President and CEO of Exiro Minerals Corp and is a significant shareholder and director. She is a Professional Geoscientist and entrepreneur with over 20 years of global experience within the exploration and mining industry. Before co-founding Exiro, Shastri spent eight years at FNX Mining where she was a core member of the exploration and resource team that discovered the Victoria and Morrison Deposits. She subsequently was the President and CEO of TSX listed Bridgeport Ventures where she raised over $17 million in the capital markets. In 2012 she co-founded and still currently co-owns Orix Geoscience Inc., a consulting firm that partners with exploration and mining companies to provide front-end geological support.
Shastri is known for the entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and determination that underpin her exceptional leadership abilities. She leads Exiro through her unconventional thinking and her ability to market herself and the team.
Shastri is an award-winning business leader. She was honoured as one of the 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining in 2015. Most recently, she was the recipient of the 2019 Sudbury’s YWCA Woman of Distinction Award, the BPW Greater Sudbury “Business Leadership” Award 2019, and Athabasca University’s Rising Star for 2019. The success of Orix in its first three years resulted in Shastri being nominated for the RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year for Canada and was one of 3 finalists for the Momentum Award. In addition to her work activities, Shastri is on the board of Halivah Mining Corporation (TSX-V:HMC), Meteoric Resources NL (ASX:MEI), and an Advisor on the board of Laurentian University’s Goodman School of Mines.
Shastri received a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Manitoba, an M.Sc. in Exploration Geology from Rhodes University (South Africa), and an Executive MBA from Athabasca University.
